Website design company in Delhi — custom-coded, no WordPress
Delhi has several hundred web design companies and most of them sell the same thing under different names: a theme, a plugin stack, and a maintenance bill that outlives the site. This page explains what we build instead, what it costs, and the questions that will tell you within five minutes whether any agency — including this one — is worth your money.
If you are searching for a website design company in Delhi, you are almost certainly not trying to learn what a website is. You are trying to work out which of the many companies claiming to be the best one will still be answering the phone in eleven months, and whether the price you have been quoted bears any relationship to what you will actually own. Klixo Studio builds custom-coded websites, web apps and portals for businesses across Delhi NCR — fixed price, typically live in seven days, and the source code is yours.
What a website design company in Delhi should actually deliver
Strip away the awards and the client-logo wall, and only five things determine whether a business website earns back what it cost:
- Code you own. The repository, the domain registrar, the hosting account, the CMS login and Search Console — all in your business's name, from day one.
- Speed that survives. Not a good PageSpeed score on launch day, but one that does not decay every time a plugin updates itself.
- Mobile-first, genuinely. Most of your Delhi traffic arrives on a mid-range Android phone on a patchy connection. That is the device the site has to feel fast on.
- Enquiries that are tracked. A contact form that emails somebody is not a conversion system. You should be able to say where every lead came from.
- Compliance, where your sector demands it. Doctors, CA firms and coaching institutes are each bound by rules that most web designers have never read. More on that below.
Notice what is absent: nobody in this list needs a Top 10 list, a fifteen-person team, or eleven years of history. Those are proxies. The five above are the thing itself.
Custom website development in Delhi — what we build
Five services, and we do not sell anything outside them. No domain reselling, no hosting packages, no SSL certificates dressed up as a deliverable.
Custom websites and web apps
Marketing sites, booking flows, directories, dashboards. Server-rendered HTML with a headless CMS behind it, so you edit your own content without a plugin licence. Built as software, because past about ten pages that is what a website is.
AI agents and automation workflows
Enquiry qualification, lead routing, follow-up sequences, internal document handling. The point is not that the website has a chatbot. The point is that the work a person currently does at 11pm gets done without them.
Custom portals — CRM, LMS, ERP
When an off-the-shelf tool costs more in workarounds than it saves in licence fees, a portal built around your actual process is cheaper. Client logins, course delivery, inventory, quoting.
Technical SEO and local visibility
Markup, schema, redirects, Core Web Vitals, Google Business Profile. A website design company in Delhi that hands you a site with no schema and no Search Console has handed you a brochure.
Maintenance and support
Optional, because you own everything. Monitoring, backups, updates and content changes for the businesses who would rather not think about it. Full service detail and packages.
Website design cost in Delhi
A custom business website in Delhi typically costs between ₹60,000 and ₹3,00,000. Freelancers commonly deliver small-business sites for ₹15,000 to ₹80,000, with basic static builds from around ₹5,000; agencies usually start near ₹60,000. The spread is not arbitrary — it tracks page count, integrations, and whether the price includes somebody writing the words.
The number that gets left out of every quote is what the site costs in years two and three.
| Over three years | Wix | WordPress (self-hosted) | Custom (Klixo) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Build | Your time, or a designer's fee | ₹15,000 – ₹3,00,000 depending on who builds it | Quoted per project, fixed |
| Platform / hosting, per month | ₹399 – ₹500 reported (Core tier) | ₹289 at renewal | ₹0 — static hosting |
| Paid plugins | Apps, per app | Forms, SEO, backups, caching, security — overwhelmingly subscriptions | None |
| Security patching | Wix handles it | Yours, continuously | Minimal — no plugin surface |
| You own the source code | No | Yes | Yes — 100% |
| Move hosts without rebuilding | No | Yes | Yes |
Three things move a custom quote up: page count, because every page needs words and somebody has to write them; integrations, because a payment gateway, a CRM sync or a booking calendar is software, not design; and custom logic — a portal, a quoting engine, an agent — which is the point at which you are commissioning an application and should budget like it. Nothing else does. We go further into the platform question in Wix vs WordPress vs a custom website, and into who should build it in freelancer vs agency.
Why we don't build on WordPress
WordPress runs a large share of the web and earns it honestly. If you publish constantly, the editorial ecosystem is unmatched, and finding a WordPress developer in Delhi NCR takes an afternoon. We are not sneering at it.
The condition everybody skips is that somebody has to own it. Every plugin is code written by a stranger, running on your server, with full privileges. Unpatched WordPress installs are the most reliably compromised class of website in India, and recovery costs multiples of prevention. We have written up an actual recovery — containment, triage, extracting the database, tracing the entry point — including what came back and what was permanently lost. It is not an abstract risk and it does not appear on any quotation.
A static, custom-built site removes the category. There is no plugin surface, no admin login to brute-force, no database sitting behind a theme somebody last updated in 2023. Performance behaves the same way: Wix and WordPress both ship a general-purpose runtime that must serve every site anyone might build, and your visitor pays for that generality on every page load. A static site ships the HTML and nothing else. We hold our own builds to 90+ on PageSpeed — the useful part is that hitting it does not require heroics.
If you already have somebody patching WordPress every month, keep it. If your plan is to deal with updates when something breaks, you have chosen a liability with a login screen.
Compliance-aware websites for regulated Delhi businesses
Delhi NCR is dense with professions whose advertising is governed by a regulator, and almost no web design company reads those rules before shipping. A site that wins you patients or clients and then has to come down is worse than no site.
Doctors and clinics — NMC advertising ethics
Patient testimonials, comparative claims and outcome guarantees are the three things a clinic most wants on its homepage, and the three the National Medical Commission's advertising ethics prohibit. There is a compliant way to build authority instead — credentials, conditions treated, procedure explanations, transparent access. We set out what is and is not allowed in why Indian doctors get their websites taken down.
CA firms — ICAI solicitation rules
Chartered accountancy firms are bound by ICAI rules on solicitation, which constrain exactly the persuasion techniques a marketing site normally leans on. High-retainer clients are also looking for signals most firm websites never send. Both problems are covered in why CA firms in Delhi NCR lose high-value clients to their website.
Coaching institutes — the 2024 guidelines
The Ministry of Education's 2024 coaching-centre guidelines changed what an institute may claim about results, and admissions conversion now turns on verified results, fee transparency and published batch dates. See why most coaching institutes lose students to their website.
Restaurants have no regulator but a comparable structural problem — the aggregator commission that a direct-booking site is meant to claw back. That is covered separately.
How to choose a website design company in Delhi
Six questions. Ask them on the first call, and note that the answers, not the portfolio, are what tell you who you are dealing with.
- Run PageSpeed Insights on the agency's own website before you call. A web design company in Delhi that cannot make its own site fast will not make yours fast. This single check eliminates most of the search results you are currently comparing.
- Who, by name, writes the code, and will I speak to them? The common agency failure is being sold by the founder and delivered by a junior. An honest answer here is worth more than a client-logo wall.
- Do I own the source code, in writing, before I pay? Repository, domain, hosting, CMS, analytics. A vendor who hesitates on this is telling you something important.
- What does year two cost? Ask for platform fees, plugin subscriptions and the maintenance retainer as a single annual number. Most quotes are silent here, which is where the margin lives.
- What happens if I want to leave? On a builder platform the answer is that you rebuild. Establish that before you are eighteen months in.
- Show me a site you built two years ago. Anyone can ship something that looks good on launch day. Ask what it looks like now, and whether it still ranks.
Work we've shipped
Rating platforms with verification flows, founder and portfolio sites, foundation and event sites, an AI product marketing site, an automation tool. Regulated clients, referral-driven clients, and one recovered from a ransomware incident. Rather than list logos, the whole set is on the portfolio, live, so you can run PageSpeed Insights on any of them yourself — which is precisely what question one above asks you to do to us.
Our process — brief to live in seven days
- Call. Thirty minutes, free. We establish what the site has to do and whether we are the right people. Sometimes we are not, and we say so on the call.
- Fixed quote and scope. One number, in writing, with what it includes. No hourly surprises.
- Build. The seven days start once content and scope are settled, because a build that begins before the words exist is a build that gets done twice.
- Handover. Code, repository, domain, hosting, CMS, analytics — all in your name. Maintenance is a choice you make afterwards, not a rope you are tied with.
Serving Delhi, Noida, Gurgaon and Ghaziabad
Klixo Studio is based in Noida and works across Delhi NCR. We are a service-area business with no walk-in office, so there is no showroom on a Delhi high street to visit — projects run over calls, WhatsApp and email, and most clients never need a meeting in a room. If you would rather meet in person before committing to a website design company in Delhi, ask on the call and we will arrange it.
Is this the right studio for you?
Probably not if you need a five-page brochure site by Friday for ₹10,000. A good freelancer will serve you better and we will say so rather than sell you something you do not need.
Probably yes if the website is a business asset — it has to rank, convert, do a job, satisfy a regulator, and belong entirely to you.
Book a free 30-minute call, or send a WhatsApp message. You will get a fixed price and an honest answer about whether you need us.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a website design company in Delhi charge?
Indian freelancers typically deliver a small-business website for ₹15,000–₹80,000, and agencies commonly quote ₹80,000–₹3,00,000, starting around ₹60,000. Where you land inside those bands depends on page count, integrations and whether anyone writes the copy. Klixo quotes a fixed price per project after a call. Rates checked 9 July 2026.
How long does a custom website take to build?
A standard business site goes from signed brief to live in about seven days, because the build starts only once the content and scope are settled. Portals, booking flows and web apps run longer and are quoted with a real timeline, not an optimistic one.
Who owns the code and the accounts?
You do — 100% of the source code, in a repository in your name, plus the domain registrar, hosting, CMS and Search Console accounts. Get this in writing from any vendor before you pay the first invoice. A builder who will not commit to it is the loudest warning sign in this market.
Why do you not build on WordPress?
Because every plugin is code from a stranger running on your server with full privileges, and unpatched installs are the most reliably compromised class of website in India. WordPress is still the right answer for content-heavy sites with somebody genuinely owning maintenance. It is the wrong answer when nobody will patch it.
Do you work with businesses outside Delhi?
Yes. Klixo Studio is based in Noida and works across Delhi, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad and the wider NCR, plus remote clients elsewhere in India. There is no walk-in office — the studio is a service-area business, and every project runs over calls, WhatsApp and email.
What happens after the site goes live?
You get the code and every credential, so you are free to walk away. If you would rather not manage it, there are maintenance plans covering updates, monitoring, backups and content changes. The plan is optional because you own everything either way.
